woah the last post was in 2007!!
haha. i dunno if anyone ever does check this blog page still, but to all the steamy mates who are graduating at the end of this academic year, i wish u all the best.

it's gonna suck that i'm not gonan be coming across familiar steamy-faces along the arts walkway and stuff next sem. haha o week feels like it was only afew months ago, wasn't it. somehow we're already all past our year 3. when my mates hear we already tried overnight studying in our first year (thanks to younghui for organising that), they were shocked! haha. but WOOHOO we survived that and many more exam seasons! haha. so, many thanks to to all, the steamy grp intro-ed our first few friends in NUS, haha. it was too bad not all remained close but still, it was fun ey. so many thinks to hafiz as well for organising the annual or bi-annual gatherings (:

well then, good luck with the career hunt and of course, the grad trips! or alternatively, good luck surviving ONE MORE YEAR of school for the rest of us..haha

im here again to post up some pics from our trip to sentosa! it was really fun playing vball, stock broker, touch rugby, etc etc and getting into the water :) did u guys get burnt??? i got burnt :( really hope my skin wont peel badly or else it's gonna b quite disgusting. apparently even putting sunblock is kinda of no use??

fyi, there's a steamy property now ---> the mikasa volleyball!!!! in future if we ever head down to sentosa (which i think we should do it more frequently together with more og mates), we wont need to worry about not having a ball! wanna borrow the vball, can get it from yonghuay.

Hi all!

Thanks for making the chalet such a memorable one :) I tink the night cycling tho tired but it was fun rite? Haha, it knocked out everyone on Saturday......But i guess what was really fun is the company we had to ride thruout the night. Hahz.

Thanks to Jeff, for helping us to book the chalets and other admin matters!
Thanks to Derrick n Hafiz for organising the kayaking n night cycling sessions for us to take part!! I guess nt many chalets i attended had so much interesting programmes for us to do.

anw ive recently been to cafe del mar..
well the meals are seriously overpriced! the prices of the drinks are acceptable. so... go there if u have the cash to spare!

summer love (pink) and bailey's comet (yellow). bailey's comet is nice! summer love tasted too much like cherries tho its not an ingredient! its prbly from the cherry on top. hate those. =/

its a side dish and costs 10 bucks (i think) for 3?? but they are nice! look at the pathetic serving.

half spring chicken.... cost 30 bucks! crazy.

later that night we went to a hawker and bought a bigger half sized spring chicken with coleslaw and rice for FOUR bucks. which was more satisfying. tsk.

and oh..
went to botak jones (amk) too.
it was disappointing after all the good things ive heard abt it.. !
the fries looked good..but they tasted bland... i had cajun chicken..i tot it wasnt too bad but the smoked turkey sandwich apparently was too salty. the fish and chips wasnt that good too.
well the servings are huge relatively, so if ure looking for stomach filling,
do visit them!
sighs.. mebbe shd try the clementi branch next time. but its too unhealthy !

Whoo hoo.....outing today was at an Indonesian Restaurant at the shophouse near China Square.Well, not really sure of the name tho. Aniwae, good food alert! We had many many dishes and each person only paid 13.50, thanks to Colin for using his DBS card so that we could get 20 % discount. Hahz. Well, anw, here are some food picts!

Huge otah!! Nice nice.

The whole table of FOOD with hungry "ghosts" all around it.

Everyone found the food to be really appetising and delicious, maybe because all of us felt really hungry too, lol. If u r one who likes to eat chilli, this is a place u shldnt miss!

Taste: 8.5/10 (Could have gotten a 9, but -0.5 for the fact that we were all damn hungry lol)
Ambience: 6.5/10 (They can do much better, more of a family eating place though)
Accessibility: 6/10 ( At some ulu part of China Square)
Service: 6.5/10 ( They can fill up our cups more frequently)
Price: 7/10 (Reasonable pricing, but finding someone with DBS card to go with u will definitely make u enjoy the meal even more, lol)

Oh, this looks good rite....but LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING!! Haha, cos this is actually the 盆菜（pen cai) from crystal jade n it cost 198!!! So ex and the ingrredients used were quite normal, no abalone somemore....haha, so please dun be conned to buy this....lol. But well, it tasted quite alright but not fantastic.

My mum's killer mushrooms....yummy.

My dad's steamed fish.....oooh, he has a 7-minute rule...the right timing for the fish meat to be tender and bouncy....haha.

in the spirit of CNY, here's a post about tangyuan!!! (means glutinous rice balls, usually with some kind of filling) and i think, if im not wrong, ppl eat it during chinese new year. right? haha.. anyhow, this one from shang palace is the best best bestest i have ever had. 2 cute little tangyuans in thick and rich red bean >.<

i'm usually a sesame hater, but the sesame in this tangyuan is fabulous. :):):):)

can i rate this 11 out of 10?

so... who has been craving for redbean peanut ice kachang?

don't know if it's common to find them, but when i saw it at a corner stall in holland market i was damn excited! haha..

it looks pretty alright, but compared to the very very tall one we had on our food trip.... hahah this one has no corn, no creamy creamy red bean. just beans and peanut on top of ice actually. and condensed milk, of course. enough to satisfy a craving, or just as a replacement when tanjong pagar seems so far away:( but the crunchy bits of sugar are a plus!!!! it's 1.50 from corner dessert stall with blue signboard:)

Haha......talking about the megabites cafe..... I got many things to say!!!

Down there only got a few stalls that sell food as you all can see.
The first stall (from the left): nasi padang
Second stall: Western Food- Food still passable, can be seen from the long queues during lunch hour. Price: $2.50 for chicken chop
Third Stall: Noodle stall- Sometimes can eat, sometimes cannot eat. Really depends on what they sell that day. Today i ate fishball noodles.....tasted a lil like hospital food cos it is damn bland!
Fourth stall: Chicken rice stall- According to my fren, the lemon chicken rice taste realli bad, but then the others seem quite ok i guess.....cos never see anione vomit after eating it.
Fifth stall: Sandwich Stall- Not bad, still eatable, but overpriced for the sandwich they serve.....science canteen (from 4 leaves) serve much fresher sandwiches @ the price of $1.80.....tho just around 20 cents difference, but trust mi, it is realli much fresher.
Rest of the stalls selling fruits and fried finger food.....

Haiz, I tink arts fac ppl will slim down during this sem lah. Our beloved deck........

our thursday post-japanesestudieslecture haunt!

sushi from the YIH canteen. for cheap, relatively yummy sushi! plus you get to dine in aircon. haha and there usually isnt a crowd :)

if anyone has eaten at megabites, please offer comments on the food there! have yet to dare to try the food there. haha :)

1st station: Adam Road Food Centre

Delima Chicken Rice - 6/10 (Fragrant rice but meat of chicken too tough) ($3)

Adam Road Prawn Noodle- 7/10 (Prawns big and fresh, nice soup) ($8!!, but its $4 w the less big prawns)

2nd station: Liang Chen Mei Dian (A chinese bakery near maxwell)

Po Luo Bao (Pineapple Bun) - 7/10 (Nicer than crystal jade) (One bun is 80 cents)

3rd station: Maxwell Food Centre

He Ji Zhou - Fish Porridge 7/10 ($3 for a veri big bowl)

Raw Fish 6.75/10 (Fish can be fresher. $5 for the fish which is a lil ex for that amount given)

Carrot cake from some unknown stall- Nt veri nice

tall 76 (Cannot rmb name)- Sweet Potato Ball (7/10), even eunice who dun eat sweet potato sae its nice!!!- 30 cents for one potato ball

4th station: Amoy St Food Centre

Chi Ming Yuan Chun Lor Mian- Lor Mee (7/10) ($2 for the small portion)

Sg Kueh- Yam Paste (expenive concentrated yam paste in minute amounts, topped with

pumpkin,ginko nuts and a tbp of coconut milk, although my impression of yam paste is yam swimming in a pool of coconut milk. Fans of yam paste will like this) ($2.50, so expensive!!

5th station: Tanjong Pagar Market (Behind Amara Hotel)

Annie's peanut ice kachang- No atapchi :( but still taste gd aniwae (7/10), kachang and grated peanut on top of ice, no jellies below, $1.50, still acceptable

6th Station: Zam Zam Restaurant @ Arab Street

Chicken, mutton, sardine murtabak- All the murtabaks are nice and the price also alright. $3 for quite a big piece tho its the small portion price.

Nasi Briyani- Nt too sure, onli jeff and kim seng ate it

Teh Tarik- Too Sweet

7th Station: Yong He Eating House, btw Lorong 9 n 11 @ Geylang

The most exciting part nt on food, but on the way to the place......LOL, those who were there will know what i mean....haha

Soya Bean Drink- According to some of them, the drink is bland, no taste ($1 for a bowl)

Soya Bean Curd- Taste alright ($1.50, expensive as compared to other places)

You Tiao- Veri crispy (80 cents for 1, considered quite ex)

heyy there!
sorry i hadn't joined the whole food trail but here's a recommendation i think afew people wld have already known of:

the hawker/food-court called "tong-sen" (if i got the name right)
it used to serve the most kick-ass chicken rice though recently i tried it again and it's sorta lost its flair..
could be a fluke for a day, so shld still try it out..

another would be at bedok interchange.its a hawker centre, the stall named "inspirasi" stall
there's always along queue there and i heard it serves great 'mee rebus' and 'mee soto'
